Kholo Creek Catchment Group is a local not-for-profit bringing landholders and residents together to restore waterways, regenerate bushland, and protect the wildlife that calls this catchment home.

A community-led initiative, grounded in local action

Kholo Creek Catchment Group began in 2019 with a shared goal — to bring local landholders and residents together to care for the catchment.

What started as a small community effort has grown into an active group working across both private and public land to restore and protect the local environment.

Our Mission

Protecting and restoring the Kholo Creek catchment

We focus on improving the health of the catchment by reducing environmental threats like invasive weeds and supporting the growth and health of native plants and wildlife.

Our work helps create a more resilient, thriving environment for both the community and future generations.

Community & Impact

Local people creating meaningful change

At the heart of the group is community — sharing knowledge, supporting landholders, and creating opportunities for people to get involved.

Through ongoing projects and partnerships, the group has contributed to habitat restoration and secured significant investment into the catchment to support long-term outcomes.

Together, Kholo Creek Catchment Group members do a lot to help protect, restore, learn about and enjoy nature and connect with other local landholders.

Weed Control

We target invasive plants that threaten native species and ecosystem health, using best-practice methods to minimise disturbance.

Native Planting & Regeneration

We plant locally occurring native species to restore what's missing — from groundcovers to shrubs and trees — and help reconnect habitat corridors.

Creek Health & Erosion Control

We undertake works to stabilise creek banks, reduce sediment runoff and support natural hydrology and aquatic habitat.

Wildlife Habitat Enhancement

From leaf litter and logs to rocks and native groundcover, we aim to create habitat for frogs, lizards (such as the Collared Delma), insects, birds and small mammals.

Community Engagement & Learning

We run workshops, field days, habitat surveys and events to share skills such as weed, native plant, and wildlife identification, grow knowledge on catchment health and bushland restoration techniques, and celebrate our local nature.
